Recurring appointments
Set up appointments that repeat, then change or cancel a single occurrence or the whole series.
Create a repeating appointment
In the appointment dialog (see Appointments):
-
Set the first occurrence's Start and End.
-
Choose Repeats:
Option Repeats Does not repeat Once Daily Every day Weekly Same weekday each week Every 2 weeks Same weekday every second week Monthly Same day each month -
Optionally set Repeat until, the last date on which an occurrence may fall. Leave it empty to repeat indefinitely.
-
Select Create appointment.
Orbit checks the whole series (up to a year ahead) for conflicts before saving.
On the calendar every occurrence shows ↻, and the drawer shows a Repeating badge.
Edit a repeating appointment
Open an occurrence and select Edit. The dialog asks Repeating appointment:
- This occurrence: changes only the selected date. You can change the service, status, title, location, time, staff, client, case and notes. Repeat options, additional staff and resources apply to the series and are hidden here.
- Entire series: changes every occurrence. If you moved the time, the series keeps its original start date and only the time of day shifts.
Dragging an occurrence on the calendar changes that occurrence only.
Delete or cancel
Select Delete in the drawer. For a repeating appointment you choose:
- Cancel this occurrence: removes just this date; the rest of the series continues.
- Delete entire series: removes every occurrence.
Tip: To keep a record that a session didn't happen, change its status to Cancelled (or a no-show status) instead of deleting it. Cancelled appointments stay on the calendar, struck through, and count in the Cancellation & No-show report.
Repeating events
Events use the same repeat options (Daily, Weekly, Every 2 weeks, Monthly, plus Repeat until). Deleting a repeating event from its page deletes the whole series. See Events.
Reports and recurring appointments
Reports count a recurring appointment once (the series), not once per occurrence.
